Kennet Community Energy Limited

The challenges of climate change and creating a sustainable society are enormous, yet bring with them a great opportunity to work together. Renewable energy is part of the solution and there is a growing movement of communities that have come together to make local renewable energy supplies a reality.

Kennet Community Energy Limited (KCEL) is a Community Benefit Society developing renewable energy for the benefit of the communities in north and east Wiltshire. Members' investment have funded a growing portfolio of solar PV projects.

Our launch solar PV project at Wadworth Brewery in Devizes has been running since May 2013, a 2nd solar PV project at Devizes School went live on 1st November 2014, a 3rd solar PV project in Trowbridge at the Civic Centre went live on 9th May 2015, and our last solar PV system at Fussell Wadman in Devizes was completed on 30th June 2016.

However, due to changes in government support for renewable energy and for community energy companies in particular, we are no longer accepting applications for new Members.
